Does the Zagg slim book 10.5 hinge still break?

I've seen dozens of reports that the left hinge on this keyboard case for the iPad Pro 10.5 in breaks after about 6 months of use.

Does anyone here know if they ever fix that issue?

I have emailed Zagg but I'd rather get the answer from a 3rd party. Their marketing department will probably deny the issue has ever existed.
