I know this has probably been asked several times... but I am on a time crunch, so I do apologize.

Will the Zphone 2.5C that is currently out work with the 16GB iPhone that has 1.1.3? Can someone also explain the 3 modes (Unlock, Jailbreak, Activate) on the Zphone on what it actually does to the iPhone?

Thanks again for the quick response and help.

It works great! If you just opened your iphone! Also downgrade the bootloader, then the locateme feature will work! If you dont downgrade thats the only thing that will not work!

Could someone explain the steps of what to do? To my knowledge so far.

1. Put the iPhone into recovery mode (hold down power and home button) and on the screen it will display the connection pic.

2. Hit eject on iTunes and close it down.

3. Open up ZiPhone and hit either of the top two buttons.

Is that it or... can someone explain better so my iPhone won't get ruined. My iPhone is brand new and has never been used... just bought it.

Can someone explain bootloader issue?

Can someone explain why the bootloader has to be downloaded to retain functionality (feel free to get technical!) and when or if there will be a time that it will not have to be downgraded to jailbreak and retain all functionality. I'm hesitant to downgrade anything on my phone that can not be upgraded (even though the majority opinion on here seems to believe that there is no downside to doing so). I did see that there is a hack to make 3.9 upgradable, but I really don't want to get that "hacky"!

Thanks!

Any answer to my last question? I am picking up the iPhone in a few hours.

Yeah you dont need it in recovery mode. Ziphone will do that part for you. You can just close itunes and ituneshelper through activity monitor. Apparently ziphone works with itunes on as well, but I didnt want to take a chance.

Good luck! You cant really screw it up with ziphone anyway so dont worry!

So just place it into the my cradle... iTunes will boot up, then just close it down. Then load up Ziphone and pick one of the first two options? Sound about right?

if you are an at&t customer you pick the third option

you just select what you want.. its really that easy. Get your phone, hook it up and start ziphone... read the options and choose what best fits your needs.. write back when youre done and let us know how it worked out for you

It will take you way less time to jailbreak and unlock your phone as it did writing these posts. Honestly just go for it. If something goes wrong come back.

Will do. Thanks all for the info and help.

I do have one other small question. I happened upon a video late yesterday that briefly showed what to do with Ziphone. After he used the "Do It All" option of Unlock/Jailbreak/Activate... it was saying "No SIM Card Installed" until he inserted a SIM card.

Since I do not have a SIM card... what should or can I do?

come on dude!!!! just friggin do it already! geez!!!!

I know, I know. I did exactly that.

Restored and updated to 1.1.4. Used ZiPhone 2.5c and everything worked like a charm. No problems whatsoever. I now have an Unlocked, Jailbroken, and Activated iPhone. So far all seems to work.

I also, just in case anyone wondered, did it as a Pay As You Go phone too. Also works perfectly. I might in a few days switch over to the Pick Your Plan and also get the $20 Unlimited Data Plan. We'll see.

I want to thank everyone for their input and help. It is greatly appreciated. I now will go off and have fun with my new device.

now see.. all that questioning was for nothing.. very simple and dummy proof huh?

It was. Thanks again.

Just curious. If it for some reason it crashes... can I just do a restore through iTunes or is there some special way to do it? Also... since I am new to this, what happens when a firmware update comes out? Do I upgrade or wait for a new Ziphone version?

just restore it to the 1.1.4 firmware and then re ziphone it

It works perfectly (with Mac). Just did it two hours ago with my (New) 16GB iPhone.
1. Restore it via iTunes (update FW)
2. Run ZiPhone
3. Enjoy

I'm writing this on my iPhone
