This is an excellent book. If you want to learn about Cocoa and Objective-C, this book will give you a good start, however it has nothing to do with the iPhone.

If you only want to learn programming for the iPhone, I would suggest picking up a book that is specific to the iPhone. I haven't read any of this book, but this looks more like something that you would be interested in: Beginning iPhone Development: Exploring the iPhone SDK

Yaa I have the book you have suggested. Its great book ..!!!

However I had ordered the cocoa programming book before I could update myself on the usefull resources for iphone development. So before I send it off, I wanted to check with some here abouts its use.

Can you suggest anyother book which could help in iphone programming...??

I can't help you with iPhone books since I don't have any.

If you ever think that you will develop applications for Mac rather than just for the iPhone, that book will help you. If you know that you will only develop for the iPhone, then I would send it off.
