Does this monitor sound good?

Hey all, so I was thinking about buying a monitor to use with my PowerBook, and my ideal would be the 23" cinema display. But then I thought about saving some dough and going with something else. This one is one I was looking at, does anyone happen to have any experience with this? or happen to recommend something else? Thanks in advance :)
 
another one that a lot of people around here use and love is the dell widescreen. it's about 50 more than the acer (when the deals are going on - dell has them every couple weeks, it seems.. so i wouldn't ever buy them at their full price, just fyi). here's a link to the 24", just to give you some other options to consider.
 
I haven't heard much about that monitor, but it looks good. Personally I'd go for the Dell based on how many people own it and how many are satisfied with its performance

That Dell model looks nice. On the other hand, with the rumored Mac Pro around the corner (likely 8/7) with new case styles, I wonder if Apple will release a new display line with matching looks. Their displays lack in features, connectivity, and response time, so it's about time for a line-change.
 
Yeah, I guess I'll at least wait a few weeks and see if they make any changes. No rush for it right now. I looked at a few Dell ones too, but don't really want one, mostly only for the sake of having to order something from Dell... lol Anyway, thanks
 
Do not buy from Acer, i found my monitor to be out-of-focus, the colours were all inconsistent, and it flickered.

I would advise against a monitor from Acer.

Also look at Samsung. Mine has served me very well for the past 3 years.

This is an unwise choice. Dell has the most consistently highly rated monitors on the planet, especially their 24" models.

I disagree. Dell monitors are often rated highly based on their excellent value, but they aren't the best in terms of quality. Being on a budget, it would make sense for MacFan26 (and me, for that matter) to go Dell over Viewsonic, but I'd definitely go for a pricier Viewsonic if I could afford it.
 
Yeah, the ViewSonic's seem nice, my school has LCD's of theirs in the computer science labs. I'm sure their widescreens are just as good. I think I'll end up caving and saving up for a cinema display.

Not sure why you think that.....take a look at the pics. Definitely has input for DVI...

I'm not sure where people get the idea that Dell monitors are the ultimate in performance, even if they generally are high-ranking in value. They're certainly decent, and often quite good, but so is ViewSonic (and Apple, for that matter)--all of those three are frequenly at or near the top of the rankings for a given category of screens.

I've bought ViewSonic screens for years without issue, and while I've also been happy with Dell's pricier monitors (their budget ones are junk), give the choice I tend to go ViewSonic.
 
Can any of those take Red White and Yellow cords? I dont know what those are called or if they are just called RWY, but I'm looking for a monitor that I can hook up my DVD player too and/or my Gcube, while using my MBP... Any suggestions?
