Does this RAM fit in the macbook?

I find it in a store here home (Belgium), for €40. A 2GB ram is all the way up to 149 Euro unfortunately :-(

That should work just fine. I have heard that the MacBook prefers PC5300, as opposed to the PC5400 that you have there, but it will adjust itself to work.

If you have the oldest MacBook, then you can only have 2GB anyway, so why not get 2 of those for 2GB?

Besides, 2GB is more than sufficient for most users, heck 1GB is fine for most users.

I have an educational discount and the store is listing something like $600+ for 4 gigs of RAM on a new SR MacBook.

Saw this on NewEgg, and it seemed more reasonably priced: Crucial 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Notebook Memory - Retail ($82.99) Would this RAM work instead of the MacStore RAM upgrade?

It doesn't specifically say it will work for the new MacBooks, but one reviewer said it worked for their MBP.

Yes, that will work.

Due to the intel switch, Macs are a lot more friendly with RAM nowadays, so pretty much any DDR2-667 SODIMM PC5300 will work.

I'm pretty sure I'm making the switch, from an old HP laptop to one of the new (sweet) SR MacBooks. This will help keep the cost down, even with the educational discount. Good to know that I don't have to by Apple's RAM.

That will work, but theres a 2gb RAM on buy.com for $59.99 and $10 if you sign up for google checkout
