Since being hooked in by buying an Iphone, I am hoping to buy a Imac to replace the families ageing pc. So looking on Ebay for a bargain I have found a 24" Intel Imac. It pretty much at the top of my price range but in the following months I could upgrade items like memory, this being the 1st step on the ladder so to speak..
The advert says 1st gen Intel Core Duo 2.4ghz CPU with 1GB ram, nvidia 7300gt 500GB Hdd - its a white Imac so Im guessing rev B. Now looking on the specs page the 1st gen 24" didnt come with a 2.4ghz CPU, only the rev C.. could this be a mistake? Is it possible for the machine to have the faster CPU configuration with lower the video card? If so, what would be the max memory configuration? 3GB or 4GB?? Also would this be a good introduction to Apple Desktop? Its main use would be photos, web surfing and Ipod connections.
