Does Time Machine back-up iCloud Drive?

So, knowing Apple track-record with cloud services, I was wondering about this extra layer of security. Does anybody know this?

And actually, does anyone know where the iCloud Drive documents are *actually* located? (Outside of the sidebar)

It also seems to be impossible to add the whole iCloud Drive to the dock for quick access.

It's located in ~/Library/Mobile Documents . There is a folder for each app containers and a folder for iCloud Drive.

It is located where Ritsuka says it is, but it is not backed up by iCloud drive. As far as I can tell. You can see the contents in the "now" Time Machine finder window, but cannot find them when you go back in time. As far as I can tell, everything in you user/library folder is backed up by Time Machine EXCEPT Mobile Documents. And this is too bad, I think. It keeps me with Dropbox, which is imperfect but does allow me to go back and restore a doc I may have deleted by accident.

No, and I don't believe TM backs up the iCloud Drive, depending on the size, that might not be a bad idea though.

As long as we don't pay for such a thing with infinite latency on backups when network is not available.

I saw this elsewhere, but if you use Finder to browse into one of the ~/Library/MobileSync folders first, and start Time Machine from that folder, then you'll see the backups of that folder.

As noted in this thread, going in the traditional way doesn't seem to work.

TM is dog slow as it is, so I think you may be asking too much in that department.

This thread and your post got me curious. Apple is doing some odd things with that folder. If I look in Terminal there all all kinds of files in there for things like iOS app settings etc. But the only thing Finder shows is the one iWork Numbers document I have stored in iCloud Drive.

Like you said, if you go into the Numbers folder then enter Time Machine, it does show the file. But none of the other files I can see in Terminal are shown.

I manually looked in the TM Backups.backupb file and sure enough, everything I can see from Terminal is there in the backup set (cap. below). So looks like it is getting backed up with TM, but Apple is not letting you see it.
