so according to this site as well as this article: http://www.appleinsider.com/article...rizon_compatible_cdma_apple_ipad_persist.html

does the possible introduction of a VZW ipad muddle your decision a bit? for those of you torn between a 3G or wifi version some of you perhaps dont want a 3G because its ATT and their 3G isnt that great so does the reports that a VZW iPad being in the works make you want to wait until word comes concretely about it or no? i was oging to get a 3G 32gb when it comes out but im willing to wait til the WWD conference that was talked about in the article before making my decision. if an iPad is coming out for VZW i want it not ATT.

The biggest "muddle" over how to configure the iPad is whether being stuck wtih a 3G radio in a growing 4G national network makes any sense.

4G is already deployed in my hometown and being offered by Time Warner Cable via PCMCIA cards and USB modems. Sprint and Clear also offer 4G broadband here. Other providers are also releasing it in selected markets in the US. For instance, Cox Cable has selected Phoenix as it's next market.

It won't make me change my mind until an official statement is released and we see what the price is. Assuming the price was the same, than I'd have to look long and hard at it.

Not taking into account I'll probably upgrade my iPad has higher storage units come out over the next year or two. I am not bothering with a 3g model for he simple fact I already own an iPhone, which I will tether to the iPad when I have no wifi coverage. (which is rare for me)

I will be shocked if iPad or iPhone shows up on VZW this year. VZ has clearly been at odds with AT&T with their commercials and even Apple has released some ads to support AT&T in this effort. I don't think if a deal with VZ was in the works, they would be taking the kind of shots that they have been taking in their TV ads.

Why are you so sure that the iPad will allow you to tether your iPhone?

If I get a 3G device will I be able to add a 1G add-on later on to make it 4G?

Why are you so sure that the iPad will allow you to tether your iPhone?

Because I can make my iphone an wifi hotspot now via jailbreak apps PDAnet, MyWi or any number of applications. There is a pretty good chance there will be a solution for this either in the device itself, or an app via a jailbreak solution. I've used my iPhone for those times when I could not find a wifi hotspot for well over a year, even streaming via my Slingbox last year during the NCAA tourney. March was the largest amount I had ever used via streaming, about 5 gigs and never a word from AT&T. The iphone is streaming the data thru it, I could stream directly to the iPhone, or in this case thru the phone to my larger screen on a laptop. It's all the same data. They just want you to pay for every device and so they make more money and were stuck with a overloaded network.

I already pay 30 bucks a month for 3g data, and probably one of the only 3g phones on their network they refuse to allow to tether. Well I for one am going to get what I paid for, 3g Data.

I could careless either. What would be funny is if there is a Verizon version & their network ends up similar or worst to AT&T. Karma is a bitch when it strikes back at you.

No... Verizon can burn in hell for all I care, and I still don't think they will get an iPad.

No, using Fox News as a source for a report on how Verizon is getting it is not good or fine...
