Does Yahoo Push work for anyone?

I've seen it work, first hand. My friend in Indiana has an iPhone and he has his email set to check every hour, but yahoo push is almost instant. Almost always right when I send him email.

So, on the other hand, with mine, here in Metro Atlanta, sometimes I don't get the email till when the 15 minute check occurs...or sometimes its 7 or so minutes...totally always random, never instant though.

I have tried deleting the account off my phone, restarting phone, and re-adding phone.

I've even switched my phone at the apple store and exchanged it, same thing.

And, I upgraded my account to Mail Plus...

And, I've tried to add the prefix..nothing.

Well I don't think you're alone in this at all. Same deal here. Sometimes it's immediate, sometimes it's hours or minutes and sometimes I have to manually force it to check. Prefix added here as well. It's not reliable push at all.

I hope people know the prefix has nothing to do with Push working. I put that in there to say I did in fact try that if that actually had any effect, which it doesn't.

Mine does the same, but I am wondering if it does it only when docked?

Most of the time it works good

Sometimes it just stops working and I have clear my INBOX on the web interface to get it to start working again. When it fails I just get the "Checking Mail" when I check to see what is going on. At this time I just have a COPY of my mail going to Yahoo Push so not a big problem for me to just empty my INBOX when problems occur. Again, my mail hits my phone much sooner then it hits my Outlook (which checks email on a time interval) so I know for sure Push is working.

I think I would consider switching over to Yahoo Mail if they would also support Push email to my desktop via IMAP. Of course it would need to be much more solid. I currently "pay" GoDaddy to host my mail and they only support POP3 access. Also, it would be great if Yahoo support Push Calendar and Push Contacts at some point. They could provide an alternative to Exchange and BlackBerry.

I have never gotten my Yahoo mail in anything close to real time. I got sick of playing with it and just gave up, for a while.

My Yahoo push has been sporadic as well. About half of the time e-mail comes thru almost instantly, and about half of the time it takes up to several minutes for incoming e-mails to finally show up. No rhyme or reason to it really that I've seen.

This is more Yahoo's problem than Apple's I think, so...is there a Yahoo email address we can complain to?

mine works fine. Receive emails when I should. I don't have it setup to check at any interval.

This is frustrating.

Mine only works if it's text. If I send a jpg attachment, it wont PUSH it. WTF??
