Hi

i just ordered an iMac, but very hesitating about returning it to get a Mac Mini with a nice external screen of my choice

i will boost the Mac Mini myself with RAM and SSD but i'm really wondering if the Intel HD 4000 graphics will be compatible with OS Yosemite ???

Apple hasn't updated this poor little mac for the last 2 years

the chip is really good for daily stuff, and i'm not editing videos

but i'm a bit worried about this upcoming major OSX update...

thanks

i'll still hesitating, the screen i would like to get is still having issues that i believe cannot be fixed :(

i guess i'll wait for the next release of the mac mini and for the next version of the screen

My personal view, I'd stick with the iMac. A far more powerful machine, compact and the iMac display is second to none in my opinion. It's GORGEOUS!

Would you be purchasing an LED screen with your Mac Mini? If not then chances are it won't be of the same display quality.

Of course though, if you're set then there's no reason it won't work. My iMac is from mid 2010 and is set to be supported for quite some time now. Of course, you won't be doing any fancy gaming or stuff with that GPU but it'll work with Yosemite just fine if it's the latest model. Apple wouldn't leave you out in the cold like that unless they were discontinuing the model which to my knowledge they have no intention of doing.
