When I have the earpiece speaker volume up all the way and someone on the other line talks at little louder than normal volume my earpiece resonates like its too loud for it. Has anyone else had this issue?

I've had the resonating issue as well. Does this indicate a bad speaker? Or does it just mean that the speaker can't handle the volume because it's simply too loud?
I was thinking of taking it to the Genius Bar tomorrow...but I wasn't sure if it was a defect. What do you all think?

Im inclined to say that its because the volume is too loud for the earpiece however mine was pretty bad. I took it to the Genius Bar, told them what was going on and they gave me a new one right there on the spot no other questions asked. My new iPhone did it very very slightly once when talking to a friend who was talking loudly. Other than that it doesnt seem as bad as the other one.
I stopped by the Apple Store earlier today. The guy at the Genius Bar told me that they've had a few people come by with this issue, and that the store has escalated the issue and notified Apple. He believes that the next software update will solve the problem. If it doesn't, he said I can come back and swap it out no problem. He also said that he'd swap it out for me right now if I'd like, but there's no guarantee that the new phone won't have the same issue.

There is definitely strange about this. I noticed today that it resonates with some people, and not with others, even when the other person is being way more loud. Strange.
I had the same problem on the first iPhone I had. The Genius I saw said that's how they all were.
I ended up talking with the associate sales manager the next time around and he swapped it for me and the new one doesn't have the problem.

All you guys with the resonating problem - is this because it is too loud (i.e. it actually has a loud volume)? Or just a bad speaker. Cause mine is so quiet all the time I can't imagine something like this happening. I wonder if mine is TOO quiet. Like there might be something wrong with mine being so quiet. I can barely hear people if there is any sort of background noise.
My new one is still quite quiet, but the resonating issue is gone. I could hear the resonating noise at probably four to five bars from max on my old phone. New one is fine at max (other that still being rather quiet).
