I have macbook pro m2 max (mac os 15.3.2) and iphone 15 (ios 18.3.2) and i experience random disconnections on my macbook pro from personal iphone hotspot. This happens 1-2 times in an hour. Does anyone experience sth similar?

I think I did experience this on my iPhone 12 Pro and '24 MacBook Pro 14" M4. But I tended to chalk it up to the screen falling asleep or me just playing on my phone and it prioritized my cell connection rather than my laptop.

Yes i have this for many years. Thought its some kind of energy saving:)

Thanks for kindness and reply. I have this issue in regular mode (not energy save mode) do you experience same? And also whats your hardware? Thanks again

I use my iPad Pro with my 16PM all the time and never had any drops. It surprises me the speed I get sometimes. Quite usable in the field. Have not used it with my MacBook yet.

Been ages since I've use hotspot but seem to recall that if the phone goes to lock screen, the hotspot stops. So if Auto Lock is anything but never and or by habit lock the screen, disconnect.

Not so. My iPad automatically connects to my iPhone while it is still in my pocket if there is no WiFi.

I had a problem with my FIOS internet a couple days ago that required a Verizon technician to resolve on the utility pole down the road. Used my AT&T iPhone 12 ProMax as a hotspot over wifi with my 2018 Mini for about 5 hours in the meantime. Worked perfectly, no disconnects even when the phone went to lock screen. And I'm in a rural area which typically only gets a 2-bar cell signal inside the house. iPhone still on iOS 16 and the Mini is on Monterey, so maybe that has something to do with it?
