Hey so i juz got a new Core 2 Duo Black Macbook. I installed FanControl cuz my Macbook would heat up to uncomfortable levels before the fans would kick in. Now that I've got Fan Control, my macbook's CPU runs about 45-50 degrees celsius and the fans are about 997-1200 rpm. I can hear the fan humming in a silent room is this normal?? i was under the impression that Macbooks are silent while runnin at this rpm?? Thanks

Mine is pretty much quiet except for when its doing something intensive or reading a cd, it does hum very quietly, but you have to put your head up against it to hear it.

Yeah the only time i can hear the fans on my MBP is when the CPU gets up to about 60 degrees. I would probably be able to hear the fan if my room was completely quite however with things like external hard drives and PC's running most of the time i tend to just tune out alot of those noises.
