When the GM was released Youtube as an app didn't connect at all. Has this been sorted out now for the official release? I'm not going to upgrade again until it's working, so if someone can tell me it would be much appreciated. :)

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16)

Ok thanks very much. I'm not so happy with 3.0. YouTube doesn't work, landscape in SMS is slow to transition, tethering doesn't work. I'll maybe just wait out the inevitable bug fixes. Also, sorry mods for wrong forum!

Yeah mine isn't working. I thought this was due to the fact my phone was unlocked and jail broken ages ago (now it just uses stock firmware that seems to not relock the phone since 2.0).

Is youtube NOT working a common problem....because it's pissing me off.

I'm on t-mobile...I hear this might be a carrier problem...then I've read it isn't...now I'm confused and I just want my youtube to work!

I'm on O2 in the UK and it's not working either. DOubt it has anything to do with the network.

Youtube app not working on my iphone 2g, upgraded from itunes with the official release.

If this is a problem with the app itself, they will need to come out with a 3.0.1 firmware that fixes this one program. I'm not sure how else it can be done, unless its a problem on youtube's end.

You can access youtube using safari anyways, plus it has more options such as search by this week, this month etc.

yeah, it's not working for me either..
My Location doesn't work also.

For those who have problem with location when wifi is turned off: try reseetting the network settings - general - reset - reset network settings

That fixed it for me!

Worked for me too! Thanks! Still no luck w/ youtube.

The only way I could get Youtube to work was to restore. Everything worked fine on the second go using Pwnage Tool rather than updating from unlocked 2.2.1.

It works with Pwnage Tool 3.0 and restoring with custom 3.0 firmware.

Previously I updated from 2.2.1 to 3.0 and YouTube was broken.

After restoring with Pwned 3.0 directly it works fine.

Oh, snap, thank you. :) So can I still restore my iPhone's contents from backup when I do this?

This is the thing. After I restored to custom unlocked 3.0 on my 2G iPhone I also went to Restore from a backup.

I set my phone up as a new phone and when it had finished the small sync it does after giving it a name, I right clicked on the phone as it sat in iTunes. I selected restore from backup and chose the backup and it did it's thing.

Problem is that it never sync'ed back my text messages and bookmarks. Everything else was fine.

YouTube seems to work for me, both on 2G and my 3G unlocked for T-Mobile. MMS Works on the 3G, Tethering works on the 3G. Having trouble with push notifications on both phones however. Anyone find a fix for this?

For YouTube problems, make sure your APN is set to internet2.voicestream.com not epc.t-mobile.com or any of the others.
