I got a dvd drive for my pc, and when I put a dvd in it, the stupid thing doesn't know what to do with it. Isn't there a dvd player that comes standard in windows? I should set fire to this sack of crap already. My imac would never do this to me.

Of course all of that depends on the version of Windows, so would you mind telling us what exactly u are running?Originally posted by RBMaraman
My mom's Dell came with 3 different DVD players loaded into Windows.
Go to Start->Programs->Accessories->Multimedia->DVD Player.
If it's not there, look on the Windows CD-ROM. Also, run Windows Update, and one should pop-up.

So, your $200 - $300 OS doesn't even come with a "$10" codec. Good job, MS.![]()

windows doesn't include a dvd player, when I had to rebuild my computer from scratch (losing all the hp programs that came with) i lost my dvd player too. I had to get a stupid program that I had to pay for.I understand your pain. Microsoft needs to stop being so cheap and include a cheap dvd player that will at least play dvds.
