i need some help,
last time i did a fresh install on my macbook i kept getting an error, i had to change the date and time to 2009 i believe in order for el capitan to be installed, is there a more easier way to do it? can i download el capitan and install it from a usb flash drive?
how would i do it though?

thanks,

You can download El Capitan: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT211683

Follow the process to create a bootable USB installer.

If you boot off a USB flash drive, like with a recovery partition (or internet recovery on newer Macs, I believe the 2009 is too old for internet recovery) you would go into the Terminal to change the date so you can install it then proceed to use Disk Utility to wipe the internal drive and then install Mac OS as normal.
