I’ve heard that the new 2021 (M1) iPad Pro has ’Dolby Atmos’ support directly through its quad stereo speakers (meaning Dolby Atmos on iPad speakers without headphones etc.).

I wanted to know that how can I test that and how can I verify whether it’s running Dolby Atmos on supported content.

Additionally, can anyone also suggest free sources for Dolby Atmos content?

Try playing an Atmos track from Apple Music. The player should show an Atmos tag. If it doesn't, check Settings > Music.

I don’t have a subscription for Apple Music; I’m not looking forward to get it either. Any free source for Dolby atmos?

Try playing Godzilla vs. Kong if you have that available. I just got my new 2021 iPad Pro (M1) and WOW! The sound and color is amazing. But, I agree, it would be nice to have a pull down, similar to my TV 4K, to see that it's in 4K, Dolby Vision and Atmos.

Unfortunately, even though Dolby Atmos via Spatial Audio in Apple Music was enabled in iPadOS 14.6 for headphones via the digital USB connection, it was DISABLED again with iPadOS 14.7.
My digital headphones (Audeze Mobius) clearly showed up as Atmos before the update, now nothing appears in the track description. Lossless still works as before.
Apple and Audeze blame each other. I am sure it is down to Apple, since nothing else has changed.

If any of you want Dolby Atmos on your headphones, I would encourage each of you to ask Apple to fix this in iPadOS 15.
