After 4 years I give up. What is the point of paying $99.00 in order to be able to "chat" with incompetent non-technicians. A premium service with NO Service. How ironic. The final blow: 1.5 hrs of "chat" because the BETA would not work. Who has time to "chat" that long. Applecare would have solved my problem with a five minute phone call. I have learned how to sync my calendar with GOOGLE and will not miss the "chat" experience. I wrote a snail mail to Apple, weeks ago. No response. Goodbye MobileMe.

I also ditched MM this week after getting a hold of tech support and being told my idisk was going slowly because of my broadband connection not being fast enough and not having a hard wire to my modem :p

I also had the issue where the badge does not update on my phone until after I would open up mail; I was told this was because my iPhone software was corrupted and would be fixed by a restart lol

I've now switched back to Googles services and Dropbox and couldn't be happier; definitely would not drop money again on MM until the problems with it are addressed.

Wow, it's that bad? I've never used their services though. I use them only for emails and stuffs... Which is rather useless I guess.

The point of my thread is not the BETA. The point is MM is a premium service (they charge $99.) and because of that they should provide phone support like Applecare. Do you have one and a half hours to spend at your computer while on a service "chat"?

I spoke to a guy at Apple care once about something with my MBP, and the issue of Mobile Me came up. This is all purely anecdotal but interesting. He remarked that Apple makes "almost no money" on MobileMe and there had been rumors of raising the price because people wanted phone support. This was a long time ago but even if what he said is 1/2 accurate, it would make sense why $99 doesn't get you phone support. They probably feel as through they can help more people with chat vs. phone, considering a tech can have multiple chat windows open at once. In contrast, this is one of several things keeping me from switching to Gmail--no support. Yahoo offers chat support with their Plus membership ($20/yr), however.

I'm not sticking up for Apple on this but just offering some perspective. I've had issues with the service in the past (mostly SMTP timeouts, me.com sluggishness, calendar re-organization, etc.) but I've not lost data on it. Indeed, it could always be better but I'm glad to see the fixes they have made.

To the OP, if you're unhappy with the service, then don't keep it and find something that suits you better. Personally, I've always felt it was a good value when I consider all the stuff the suite includes (esp. iDisk, find my iphone, etc.)

I wouldn't say its bad, its not like you pay for it and it doesn't work; but you can definitely get the same thing from other companies for free and working at a much faster pace.

I replaced Yahoo Push Mail for iPhone when MM came out so I could get OTA Sync of Contacts and Calendar in addition to Mail. Since then you now have Google and just this month you have Windows Live that do pretty much the same thing for free. And if you only use the Web Browser for your PC and MAC client then I don't see the real value in MM. However, I am now moving to the Mac Mini (dropping my PC for these applications) and I really like working with the built in Mac Mail and Calendar. On my PC I had to use Outlook for these applications. I guess I feel the Mac integration is cleaner. So, for me I will stay with MM. Also, Mac Mail seems to be a better (faster) IMAP client (compared to Outlook 2010) for my other work related Mail Account.
