Today I got this, Juiced Systems Bizhub: https://www.amazon.com/Juiced-Syste...01JD9GN6I/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

[Bought it because of solid recommendation from LinusTechTips]

I noticed that whenever I remove connect a portable self powered external HDD, macOS says 'Device not ejected properly' for all other connected devices i.e a micro-sd, SD, a thumb drive they are disconnected and then connected.

The same thing happens when I disconnect the pass through charger from the usb c port.

What is wrong here ?

A slight update on this. I did even more testings and found out the issue is with the available distributing power(?) in the hub.

When the hub's pass through charger is used, there is no issue with anything. I can plug and disconnect anything without the warning from macOS. But as soon as I disconnect the plug for the, all the connected devices disconnect.

Can anyone confirm ?

Self-powered hubs behave better than non-powered hubs.
Just "the way it is"...

I thought hubs that requires external power through an adapter are called 'external powered hubs' and non-powered hubs are called 'self powered hubs'.

Also I made a mistake in the first post. I meant to say "I noticed that whenever I connect a portable self powered external HDD...". I've made the correction.

Hmmm... what I meant by "self-powered" hub was one that uses a "plug-in" external power block so that the hub provides its own power to the USB bus.

By "non-powered" hub I meant a hub that relies on bus power supplied by the computer (no power block at all).

Sorry for the confusion.

I got it figured out. Asked for answers all over the internet and other people also face the same issue as me. Seems like Juiced systems bizhub is built this way. It's inconvenient though, nonetheless.
