Just a brief warning here: do not get the apple card. I applied for it in December, and purchased a couple of items. Everything went well, I paid my balance, returned an apple item, and received a positive credit for it on the account. Then, everything went south. I went to the mac store to buy a couple of items and, after paying for one item, the card stopped working. I actually texted the apple support before trying again (I did not want to block the card), which told me to try again - thereby prompting my card to be blocked. I was annoyed with Goldman Sachs' incompetence, but I did not really worry about it, called the support line, who asked me to wait 48 hours for the reactivation to go into effect, and then try again. Sure enough, 48 hours later, the card still did not work - so I ended up using a different credit card for my purchases. Recently, I wanted to try again - after all I still had a credit of about $100 on that card - but the card was still not working. The Goldman Sachs support was incredibly unhelpful, they just told me that they could see that the transaction was declined, but that there was no reason why this should be the case (my credit history is very good, I have never been late on any payment in my life!) - and that I should wait 48 hours. Of course, they never called back (they never do, even if they tell you that they will). 48 hours later, I called them back, just to hear the same story. They were unable to fix the problem, and unwilling to pass me on to their supervisor. When I asked to cancel the card, they told me that they could do that, but not reimburse the money they owed me (I had a positive balance of about $110, not that much, but I still did not want them to basically steal that from me). After a lot of headache and many negotiations, they finally accepted to pay the positive balance into my wells fargo account, and to cancel the card. I am happy that I got rid of it, and will stick with my other credit cards (the Amazon card is great, btw!). Take this as a cautionary tale. This card is not worth the trouble. Apple is great, their tech support is one of the best. They should never have partnered with Goldman Sachs, who are absolutely incompetent, greedy, and dishonest. Don't get this card!

Many people seem to love their Apple Card’s, from what i read on here. I don’t think your wall of text should dissuade people. Every enterprise has the occasional horror story. You mention Amazon card - somebody took out an amazon card in my name and charged lots of money on it, days before the card showed up at my own house (so it was never activated). Talk about a horror story.

Must be a one off incident...

I have had mine since day 1 and have never had an issue.

I just haven't figured out how to spend the money in my Apple Cash card digital wallet - wish it can just go back into the Apple Card...

You can spend it anywhere you can use Apple Pay. Just select apple Cash as the “card.”

I've had mine since the card launched... nary an issue. Got the card without all of the gyrations that I see reported here from time to time... I use it regularly, and pay it off even before it's due... works great and not a hint of any issue. Sorry for your luck.

cool. Cool. Hey, just making small talk here, but what’s your mother’s maiden name?

:)

Surely you jest? Have you not seen the many accounts of people receiving incompetent "service" from Goldman Sachs? A company with a repulsive history (2008 financial crash ring a bell?) and no experience in what they are trying to do with the Apple card. Mr. Cook sure made a good decision in choosing G&S as Apple's partner in this endeavour

I have had and loved my Apple Card from day one. But earlier this week, after my Late 2012 iMac died ( long story ) I found myself in my local Apple Store. I picked out the mid level 16" MBP and the LG 5K monitor. My Apple Card had plenty on it for the purchase, but was repeatedly declined: " Declined-Transaction Reviewed".
Tried Apple Pay and card swipe. Called Apple Support and Goldman using the feature in the Wallet App. Never got a good answer from anyone, and ended up using my American Express. Very strange. I have never had an issue before.

I'm reading more and more big negatives like hacking. Thought security was supposed to be the selling point. And CS sounds like it is horrid. I guess if you never have a problem that is ok, but it's when things go bad when a company can shine or crash.

All credit cards have their own set of problems. I personally enjoy using Apple Card for the cash back, purchase tracking and online purchases. A few cards I use don’t play nice with keychain which is a personal pet peeve. Glad u got your money back and we’re able to cancel.
