iPod Don't have enough permissions to add songs to my ipod?

Ok well as of 2 days ago I haven't been able to add or delete anything from my Ipod classic (80 GB). When I do it says "Attempting to copy the disk "Ipod" failed. You do not have the privilages to make the chanages."

Then right behind it it says "The ipod cannot by synced. You do not have enough privilages for this opperation"

Now i've read up on this already on many sites and they all treat it as if itunes is the problem, b ut in my case I know for a fact that it is the ipod's fault. Here's how I know why:

1. I can add music to my itunes library no problem
2. When I press repair disk in Disk Utility it says it cannot repair the ipod.
3. There's a folder I added into my ipod through Finder (using it as if it was a backup drive) and when I delete it won't let me

So my question is where did this come from and how can I fix it? If this helps at all I'm using the latest version of iTunes (as of June 6, 2010), my ipod is water damages (however i've never have this problem and i've owned this ipod for 2 years), and i'm using snow leopard. If anyone can help me in any way that would be greatly appreciated!!

So you have enabled DISK USE with your iPod?

Have you checked under Sharing and Permissions in the GET INFO window which can be opened by selecting the iPod in Finder and pressing CMD+I?

Yep i did.

And I went into get info and I pressed the lock key to unlock it and then it said I could read and write but to edit it to do something else I couldn't. Which doesn't make any sense. Like it said I could read and write yet it was faded out so I couldn't adjust it at all.

Have you restored it? Water is never good for electronics thus the HD inside it may have failed

Possibly but I find it odd it happened now when i've had it for such a long time you know? I did not restore it but from what people have said with similiar issues they have said they've restored their ipod and the issue kept happening.

And the files itselves are ok. When I unplug the ipod and listen to it, it functions normally as if there isn't a problem

I was looking upon another topic at https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/192196/ to learn how to force permissions using chmod should I try doing that on Terminal and t hen it'll change so I can sync with it? If it's worth a shot and works or doesn't then I may just have to restore it and hope I don't get that error again (or else I can't add any of my songs!!)

First off I have an ipod classic and 2nd i have about 30 Gb left or so. I don't see how that could be it at all.
