Don't Laugh. AOL Mail Extraction?

I TOLD you not to laugh! OK, since AOL won't install on a Mac Pro, and I've been an idiot staying with it anyway, I'm outta there. But I have fourteen years' worth of e-mail archived in AOL e-mai l format on the G4. How do I convert thousands of AOL e-mails to TextEdit or something?

I don't really need to extract the File Cabinets; I've already saved the Important Stuff to folders on the hard drive (as AOL e-mail documents).

Is this a job for some kind of Applescript (which I don't know how to program)?

I tried this thing called AOL Service Assistant (File Cabinet into Apple Mail) and the results are dizzying and uncertain. I got one of the thousands to open (and it addresses the File Cabinets, which I don't need).

If you can wait, I have a book and I can try to look it up for you. Don't know when I can get to it, since I am at work. The book is with me at work . Just wish i had a mac at work!

I read that you can use a program that exports mail, contacts and calendars from outlook, not outlook express. into formats that can be imprted into address book, ical and mail or entourage.
