Yesterday, my 1st generation Apple Pencil was acting up. I had only used it for two weeks, but it would disconnect whenever I would apply pressure to the screen when writing/drawing. I tried everything; rebooting my iPad, re-pairing it to the Pencil, replacing the Pencil’s tip with the one that came in the box, etc., but the issue remained. I gave up and contacted Apple Support, who suggested I have it replaced. While messing around today, I tried unscrewing the tip and screwing it back in, just enough so that it isn’t loose. Well I’ll be damned, it works without any issues now! Apparently my habit of randomly screwing the tip in, probably out of fear of it coming loose, was the cause of all my problems. This may be painfully obvious for some, but I just wanted to let you guys know :)

Interesting, thanks for the info. I don’t feel how I could over-tighten it and am surely not going to apply a lot of force now ;)
