Hello:

I purchased my intel 20" imac last week. So far, it's great. I just don't like the keyboard. I like using the ergo style keyboards.

Does anyone else have an issue with the keyboard? Any suggestions for an alternative keyboard?

Thanks,

VJ

i for one love the iMac keyboard, in fact i'm using the wireless version right now. i feel the quality is better than that of the windows keyboards.

if you have sufficient funds, the logitech dinovo keyboard/mouse combo's are nice. unfortunately, you cannot purchase each independantly. it's definitely important to try out a keyboard before purchase if you can.

also, if you get a windows keyboard, you will have to live with a somewhat different and sometimes confuzzling arrangement of keys.

Trade?

Hey, I'll take it off your hands (no pun).

I don't have an ergo keyboard for an exchange, but I have a Macally flat keyboard (which I used for two weeks). It types like notebook keyboards. link to the keyboard

PM me if interested in a trade. I should have the box at my folk's place.

Good on you.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand your question, but I wanted to ask the obvious... if there are ergo keyboards you like, why don't you just buy one and plug it in? OS X supports basically any USB keyboard. :)

I do like ergo keyboards by microsoft...

I know this is going to sound corny, but I'm trying to find a nice ergo keyboard that's the same color as the imac.

When you look at the imac the white computer, keyboard, and mouse look really nice. Having a hard time finding a nice "bright" white ergo style keyboard.

I know that must sound crazy, but I guess "style before comfort"

Logitech S530 wireless desktop. Vide:

Better keyboard, better mouse, no security worries like with bluetooth (it uses a tiny 27MHz RF USB dongle, so looks just like a USB kb and mouse to your mac), uses regular AAA batteries that last 6 months or more.

Love Hate

 As much as love to beat up Microsoft, they do make excellent keyboards and mice. I also hate Apple's keyboards and have tried Logiteck and Kensington. Finally I bought a Microsoft Wireless Comfort keyboard and couldn't be happier with it.:D

Have you got Expose to work with it? I have that keyboard I can't program the functions keys for anything. I like the keyboard but I miss Expose.

Have you tried toggling the option "Use the F1-F12 keys to control software features" in Sys Prefs -> Keyboard & Mouse -> Keyboard?

Thanks! That fixed it. The keyboard shortcuts were unchecked for all the Expose and Dashboard features.

I did a search, and there are a few mac compatible ergo style keyboards. If anyone else is interested, below are a few links...

Here are the links...

I haven't decided which one to purchase. If and when I do purchase a ergo keyboard, I'll write a quick review...
