Apple's iPhone availability checker shows the status as of store closing (9pm) only. Shipments arrive during the day and are sold that day. If they sell out the day they are received the checker will again show no stock.

So here's what to do. Find out from an Apple Store employee what time their shipments have been arriving. Be there at that time on the day you want to purchase.

True. It also doesn't take into account the many returns coming in to the stores from eBay speculators that couldn't sell them. I saw more than one person bringing back a sealed phone for a refund the other day.

I think most people who use this site and wanted an iphone got one already or just order one online. If people are stupid and dont know there isnt a shortage let them buy them on ebay.

If you want one , just order it online you are already a week behind the release so whats another week.
