I forgot to wait a few days to update. I can't get any of my categories working anymore.

First I updated the app, and all of my icons disappeared. I went back through SBSettings to turn them all back on in the springboard and then put them back in the categories. It didn't work. So I redid all that, made new categories and tried those. It didn't work either.

So this is just a word to the wise; don't update Categories for a couple days.

Same thing happened to me, after update all my folders were empty. I tried rebooting and reinstalling with no luck. Right now I'm in the process of putting back the apps in each folder.

Anyone use a custom hosts file?

I downloaded one to block ads the other day and it came with a patch for Categories but the new update rejects the patch. I install Categories and it makes me uninstall the patch. I install the patch and it makes me uninstall categories. Bahh!!!

I guess I'm going to get rid of Categories and try to use Stacks. I installed Aptitude though so I can always try to just pin it at the current version so I don't have to look at that annoying ( 1 ) on my Cydia all the time.

So I removed categories but my category stayed. :D Haha. I guess I can just carry on and just add apps manually if I want. Or I can use the stack that I just painstakingly built by copying and pasting text in iFile. :)

i also updated last night and lost all my apps in all my folders, had to re set them all back up. Was not fun now all the icons are mixed up as I cant remember the order i had them in last time. I wish they would test stuff before releasing

Tonight, I've had a somewhat opposite experience to others. Let me explain...

I had Categories 2.26 installed. I upgraded by going into Cydia and upgrading "Categories SB" only (thinking that "CatSB" needed to be upgraded first). After the mandatory re-spring, I found that the "Categories" app was upgraded automatically along with "CatSB". From the Springboard, my Folders looked fine (icons and names). Each had all the apps as normal.

Now here's the weird part...

Launching the "Categories" app so I can edit my folders, I found that the menu contained my current folders, plus several I had previously deleted. Essentially, these previously deleted folders had duplicate app-icons in them. I of course didn't want them, so I manually went into each one, removed their contents, then deleted the folders. This of course caused duplicate icons to appear directly on the Springboard. (Note here: these previously deleted folders with duplicate app-icons in them were invisible on the main Springboard screen.)

Not much of a hassle . I just went into SBSettings and hid them all again. All is well now. It was just weird so I thought I'd report it.
