Installing Windows on your Mac?? I ran away from a PC about 4 months ago and can't seem to come up with any great reasons to pollute my MBP with XP? What do you think?

No one's forcing you. 
If you don't feel there is any need to run any XP programs, then I'd save yourself the money and not bother.
It's mainly nice to have for those who have essential programs that are Windows only (or are gamers).

I think more than recently than not many of us have come to OS X *specifically* to get away from Windows; At least, I know I did. However, a big reason I could justify purchasing a Mac was that, if I really, really needed to, I could install Windows too.
I suggest that one always look for a Mac alternative before resorting to installing and running Windows; unfortunately there isn't always one available.

Ppl trip out in entertainment when they see me running XP/Vista on my MBP. I think it's funny too, but not weird.
Having XP for work gives me a lot more flexibility and productivity. While when I get home, first thing I do is crack open my MBP and reboot into OSX, tada!

how do you install linux? i have os 10.4.11 and I download but how do you install?
I run fedora 8,Solaris 10, FreeBSD 6, vista and xp pro in parallels just for fun.
but i do 99.9% of everything in os x i only us xp for soulseek sometimes and vista to help out friends.

I was looking at Solaris via boot camp, but found out that doesn't work too well, and I'm too cheap to buy parallels yet.
Get a trial version to see if it works...
I think it does, but I'm not sure.
