On an Apple Retail Store's grand opening, what usually happens as a celebration? Are there discounts or anything?

Depending on the store, they usually give out 10% off coupons or a bag filled with a lot of different things that you can buy for $250...it guess it really depends on the store and how big it is going to be.

When is it opened (the one opposite of CP)?

Apple Store opposite of Central Park.

Oh, Im not talking about that one. Right now, I have a relative vacationing in Reno, NV until Thursday, and an Apple Store just so happens to open there on Wednesday. I was wondering if maybe something might go on or be discounts so maybe my relative could pick me up something for a cheaper price.

None of them have discounts on launch date - unless you're at a flagship with lucky bags which have a 10% card or it's an OS launch night - at Tiger you could get 10% off from them.

You'll get a T-shirt if you're one of the first 500 or so through the doors - and they might give out some iPod socks or something.

What do the free shirts usually say?

I'm with stupid. :D j/k

The front has a small Apple logo and the name of the Apple store location such as SoHo, Regent Street, etc.

The back says Designed by Apple in California.
