Dormant airpods

Guys - I have a spare pair of pro 1st gen. Wondering if the batteries will completely die if left dormant in the case in 1-2 years or they will still be usable. Just keeping it in case i lose my 2nd gen

I had a spare pair of APP 1s that could not be charged after about six months of inactivity.

My advice would be to simply plug in your spare pair once every week or two so they remain charged.
