Hi, I have a podcast that I would like to put in the itunes media store. But to do that, I need a .MAC account. So went to apple.com to subscribe and the stupid site asks for your credit card before even giving you a price or any info on how much up and download you get.
Does anyone have an account and can tell me the price and how much up en download you get?

You sure it's a .mac account and not an iTMS account they want?

I'm sure there are plenty of podcasts published by people who don't have .mac

True enough. You just need a apple user id and password like you would use if you would buy a song. You do have to have your podcast hosted somewhere though. Apple doesn't do that for you through the ITMS. If you don't have another way to host it right now and you like what .Mac has to offer for $99, then that is an option.

You can also typically find .mac for $79.99 on Amazon and that ships free and typically has no tax. :p Or you could take your chances on eBay.

hmm indeed you only need an apple ID, so that's no problem. But my second quection is still, how much upload can I get for my podcast. I read somewhere it was only 1 GB, is this true? Because lybsin has an acoount of 100MB a month with unlimited download.

If a new Mac is in your future, wait 'til then and save another $10.

If your buying a computer at the apple store you can negotiate the price of .mac. They are rated on how many they sell and often managers will make excdeption son the price to move units.

Just wondering, but has .mac improved speed wise? I used it a while ago and all I can remember was how long it took for my webpage to load. Im looking to get an account but I don't want to pay 100 bucks for something slow...

any ideas?

Thanks

I'll find out soon... I decided to try it again, but last year, iDisk was too slow to use.
