Hi,

I want to get my wife an iphone, the problem is with iCal, we have two totally different lives, and I don't want to mix our calendars together (mine already has a full schedule of appointments). If I gave her own separate "calendar" e.g. kate apts, and set her iphone to sync, with "kate apts", it would work well on our actual phones, but I cal would be a mess with both of our stuff. Is there a way to create an ical for her, and one for me, that way we could avoid mass confusion, with our schedules

pls let me know

I don't think you can but in actual iCal at one given time you could uncheck your wife's calendar on the iCal sidebar when you want to use iCal but when your done just recheck it

I think that does work, the problem, is that I have so many color coordinated "calendars" (e.g. B-days, dr apts, work apts, finance, .... etc) , that it would take here about 7 "unchecks" to see here own personal adgenda....

it may be my only option though...

when plugged into itunes you can select which colour calendar you want synced with your iphone, just pick the ones you want on there and iTunes will do the rest.
if your talking in actual iCal maybe you just create a all new account on your computer for her?

multiple calendars

Here is the workaround my wife and I are using:
1. from my MB, sync my iCal calendar (with multiple secondary calenders) with google calendar using their app 'calaboration.'
2. from her MB, also create a sync between my google calender and her ical. now both MB's can alter their own iCal calenders and have the changes show up on the other.
3. use www.ianfernando.com/2008/sync-google-calendar-with-iphone-3g/ to establish link between each iphone and google calender.

Now from each iphone you can view and add (google calender doesn't support delete/edit yet) calenders. Any change made in iCal on either MB is reflected on the other MB and both iphones.

Yeah, you can put all of your ones into a group of your own. Also she can have a group on iCal as well. Therefore you will just uncheck one. I have one with school as the main root > timetable, homework and exams as sub categories.
