Double wrap watch strap dimensions

Hello,

New to posting on this forum but browse it quite often.

Was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to measure their "double wrap" apple watch strap and let me know what the dimensions are of both sections?
I am looking at the small/medium sized one and I want to order a double wrap for someone who is on the edge of medium and large.

I attached a picture. The length of each leather strap would be absolutely ideal.

I am also going to craft a leather strap at the same length and will post here after it's done.

My wrist is 6.5". My Hermès double tour bands are 11" (long end) & 4" (short end), not including watch adapters or buckle. There is a long overhang when band is buckled. I hope this helps.

I think I've seen that you have a Hermés single tour. Sorry for more questions, but what is the width in mm at the buckle end of the ST? I assume it's a 24mm band at the lugs, but I know it tapers and would like to know how much. Thanks in advance

Both the single tour & the double tour for my 38mm Hermès ⌚️ are 17mm at the buckle end & 20mm at the lugs.

Thank you!! I found a company that can make a replica barenia calf strap. Wanted to make sure I have the right numbers I have a 42 mm but I'll just adjust it accordingly.

I had a few requests to have this strap posted.
Our firm hand crafts all of our projects without the use of machinery. Hand cut, edged and stitched. This is vegetable tanned leather which will age nicely over time and develop a honey brown patina with wear.
Lined with dark drown pig skin.

I left the long band unpunched so that my client can be sized up when she comes down to the studio to pick it up.

I've read that the genuine Hermes DT strap has a thicker section to prevent the Watch body from sliding over the strap and losing skin contact.

Width is the same. Unlike yours, it has a bulge, somehow.

I haven't handled one in person so I can't say for sure. Just going by what I read. If you're going to copy shamelessly, might as well do it right.

Copy what shamelessly? The generic form of a watch strap. And your limited experience with leather tells you that Hermes was the "right" way to do a strap?

A bulge in the strap is aimless in function. I'm sure your high fashion blog purposefully filled your ear with nonsense about Hermes meticulous craftsmanship but a bulge anywhere adds unnecessary bulk. If the tension on the strap is appropriate, then the face will not slip past the strap.

I take offence to your comment about copying. Hermes is selling a cheap attempt at high quality horology accessories through mass branding and marketing with apple and charging an insane mark up on it.
I cut that price point in half. Plus a human made that strap for another human and thats what matters most...

while it isn't something inherently able to be protected, the fact you had to come onto a forum to ask people for the dimensions that another company had come up with, rather than working up your own dimensions, is copying. shamelessly.

nice to know you're smarter than hermès' teams of craftsmen, though. unfortunately, their insane markup funds an ability to fix these mistakes and find solutions much easier than you will find it.

your ends are 17mm but it appears you've used an 18mm buckle. why?

the lugs on the apple watch hermès are 20mm wide, specially made for that band and unavailable to the public. the lugs you have used are 22mm wide. no third party has made anything other than 22mm wide ones as come with the apple classic buckle etc. so instead of copying their dimensions, it may have been more beneficial to work with the materials you had in hand and developed a double tour tapering from 22mm inwards. what you have there looks ill-fitting.

Why are you attacking the person who pointed out a technical problem with your idea? You are copying another design and selling it for less money to make a profit for yourself. How is that not shamelessly copying another product? If you cannot admit it to yourself, please refrain from posting about it on an open forum.

I purchased a "shameless" copy of the exact same band for $40 on Amazon. It was very tight on my wife's wrist almost to the point of not being wearable. It did not have the "aimless in function" bulge and after two days, we returned it because her Watch was constantly locking while on her wrist. Please research what Hermes is doing and why, before making comments which make you seem hot-headed and uninformed.
