I know that’s it’s a downgrade going from a Pro to a Plus. The only reason why I consider it is that the Plus has way less weight and is almost the same weight as my 13 Pro used to have.

I kinda regret even getting the Pro Max expect the battery life. But I don’t really need all the other features it was. Ofc I’ll miss the 120hz but that’s about it. I did read the the Plus series even have a bit better battery life then the Max?

Anyway I would 100% go in for a loss here because I don’t get the same amount of money back for my phone that would cost me the 15 Plus…

Thoughts? Usb C is not really important to me btw because I usually charge my phone on a MagSafe stand anyway

Yes official it has better battery life, but according to tests on youtube the Plus has the best battery life. 🤔

If you have regrets getting the PM and are so keen for the + that you'll take a hit, then you must really want the + or you really aren't happy with the PM. Either way you look at it you've made your mind up.

I don't think it makes sense to spend money for what is in a lot of ways a downgrade. I would suggest skipping an update this year and looking at what the iPhone 16 lineup offers. The 14 Pro is still a great phone, and you've gone this long dealing with the heavier phone. As you've said, you don't really get anything from the 15 plus over the 14 pro except a weight saving.

The 15 Pro Max is also a little lighter, if you feel you absolutely must upgrade this year, or even the 6.1" 15 Pro if the smaller display could work.

A 15 Pro or anything is out of question for me, I choosed the Max because of the Battery, 13 Pro was never lasting me a full day and was pita for me. Im used to the weight of the 14 Max now and it dont bothers me at all, but having a lighter phone would be cool ofc.

But I guess I should really skip it for now and wait for the 16 line up, its not like I *need* another phone anyway.

I was considering this, I am on the upgrade program so due to change my 14PM this year. The 15 plus would give me cheaper monthly payments, but I feel it would be a bit of a downgrade. Loss of Pro Motion being the main one. Not sure what to do - I could get the 15PM for £69 and the same monthly payments but once a case is on it there would be little difference (would have to buy a new case also, I like my Apple leather case and the new one's look bad)

if loss of pro motion isn’t a big deal or always on display I think being 20% lighter is not insignificant. Battery gains of a16 with a 60hz display will likely be more than specs are leading on imho

I have a iPad with 60hz display too and yeah its noticable but its not like its *really* bothering me. Was setting now my Pro to 60hz to test it and its Ok, not thaaat bad. I dont game on my phone anyway, just casual using it.
About AoD: never use it because I have my AW always on my arm.

Personally wouldn’t wanna go back to 60hz if I can help it as a screen stickler.. but I think the pro motion effect is way more noticeable on iPads than iPhones. Ymmv

The average person might not / probably won’t care

I was going to buy a 14 plus, but ended up with a 14 pro max as there was a 15% discount offer so the price difference wasn't much.

The new digital zoom on the 15 plus makes it a good choice depending on what you need.

I do find I use the always on display a lot in a desk stand though, that's not available on the plus models.

The pro maxes keep their value well, so you'd still have a good trade in against a future iPhone.

Maybe the plus got a smaller battery. We don’t know (yet)

Maybe depending where you live, but lets not forget the 14 Plus started at a way lower price point and they have the exact same € loos when I look into the prices now that i would still get for 14 PM / 14 Plus.

I have just reduced it on my 14pm to try. It’s horrible!
