I'm sure I'm in the minority that wants to downgrade, but I've had nothing but problems using 2.1 I actually didn't have any of the problems most people had, but have somehow gained them now.

The error I keep getting when I try to restore is error 1013. It's almost like it goes through the entire process of restoring to 2.0.2, but then throws this error.

I did a search, but most seem to deal with jailbraking a 1st gen phone. Mine has never been jailbroken.

Any help

I decided to bump this thread since I too want to do the same thing with my iPhone 3G because my favorite app was broken by 2.1. Could anyone point me in the right direction? I have iTunes 8 and both a mac & a pc if that matters.

Edit: I found some instructions here: http://www.intomobile.com/2008/09/25/how-to-downgrade-your-iphone-os.html but once my phone gets restored I get error 1003 or something like that and my phone goes into "connect to iTunes" mode and forces me to restore to 2.1.. Any ideas?
