Downgrade iPhone 3GS 3.1 to 3.0.1

3.1 buggered up my iPhone and kept asking me to restore it and kept failing every time so I downloaded the appropriate file from the link above and when it asks me to restore I simply ALT+CLICK the restore button so it allows me to manually choose the file and restore from that, back to 3.0.1 now my phone works fine but i'm not sure how I'm ever gonna be able to upgrade to 3.1 now, maybe i'll try another day.
No you can't. Not a 3GS. Apple will no longer sign the 3.0 firmware, so it cannot be uploaded. It is still possible to downgrade the 3G and 1st gen, but that is not what the OP asked about.
Reason this is happening is because 3.1 updated the baseband of the iPhone. Do a Google search for iRecovery.
