I an interested in downgrading from Sonoma 14.5 to 14.4.1 if it's not too difficult.

If I do a softwareupdate --list-full-installers in Terminal, one of the options returned is

Title: macOS Sonoma, Version: 14.4.1, Size: 13298513KiB, Build: 23E224, Deferred: NO

Can I downgrade using :

software update -i "macOS Sonoma, Version: 14.4.1"

is it as simple as that or are there risks? I have backup...

You cannot downgrade macOS without erasing the disk and starting with the older installer.
