Hey, so I've been thinking about this for a long time whether or not if I should upgrade to iOS 9 beta due to all the bugs and all of that jazz... and yes I did decide to upgrade but I have one question... (well two..)

Are you allowed/able to downgrade iOS 9 beta 3 to iOS 8.4?

If so, are you allowed to keep your files? (ex: contacts, imessage history, apps, etc)

If you made a backup while still on 8.4, you'll be able to get your stuff back. Only way to go back is to restore to the 8.4 .ipsw, which is why you'd need an 8.4 backup to get your stuff back.

So if I backup before I update to 9.0 then I'm all cool when I return back, correct?
Thanks!

Because your doing public you won't be able to just download the 8.4 IPSW. Not a problem though. Do the same back up while on 8.4 just when you want to downgrade you have to do a DFU restore. :)

You can just dl the 8.4 .ipsw from the internet and alt restore to it in iTunes.

Don't forget that Apple signs and verifies the package. If it has been tampered with, installation will fail. It's probably the site itself that is the bigger concern.

Do an iTunes backup on 8.4, then open iTunes preferences, choose devices tab and right click on the back-up and archive it to protect it.
