Up to you, I got an absolutely mint refurbished 13 Pro 6.1” and think it’s a battery king! I use the timer on my phones for cooking and thought that dynamic island would be great for that, but didn’t want to pay new iPhone Pro prices, and then iOS was updated and gave a MUCH improved timer view on the Lock Screen, jut need to tap the phone, so I don’t need Dynamic Island anymore. Well happy with my 13 Pro.
But if you sell your 14 Max you will lose money.
With phones being able to last for a very long time now, and costing over a grand, you really need to think if you need that latest and greatest, or if the deal you are getting is good value before buying.
I would probably keep the 14, and if you don’t need to sell the 13 keep it as a backup? Or sell it if you need the money.
Yeah if I’d bought a 14 Pro and was going to lose out of downgrading it, it’s best just to keep it at this point and sell the 13 Pro Max. I wonder if the OP has disabled the always on display to get better battery? That’s the first thing my wife did and the battery is nearly as good as her 13 Pro she had before.
I think the moral of the story is if the OP doesn’t want to be disappointed by marginal updates, go a bit longer between upgrades. I’d have skipped the 14 Pro Max and gone for the 15 Pro Max personally as you’ll see a bigger difference. Dynamic island is cool for the first 5 mins but it’s an animated notch at the end of the day and very few apps are utilising it at this stage. It’ll be something that is more useful in a couple more years on a future device I would say.
These devices are designed to be used for more than 12 months and are very relevant for several years. That’s what makes the iPhone such a good product.
