downgrading from 2.1 to 2.0.2

Hello,
I have iphone 3G that was having many problems on 2.1 so i decided to go back to 2.0.2. But when i restore to 2.0.2 it gives me 1013 error. Can anyone help me out and tll me how to safely downgarde from 2.1 to 2.0.2? I am running itunes version 8.0.1.11

I downgraded to 2.0.2 on winpwn-2.5 and then my piece was not detecting any network. I then restored to 2.1 and then quickpwned it...still no network. Someone please help...by the way i have a legally unlocked phone that works on any network.

Problem solved! I restored the phone to 2.1, activate with sim in phone through itunes, and then jailbreaked it. Phone now working with reception...
