I recently upgraded from Mojave to Catalina and I want to downgrade. The Music app is awful, Bluetooth isn't working and my computer (2014 15" MacBook Pro) just ran better on Mojave. I have a Mojave Time Machine backup and that external disk has not been used to do a Time Machine backup while on Catalina. Just to be safe, I used a separate external disk to do a Catalina Time Machine backup today in case something goes wrong while downgrading.
I'm reading conflicting things about downgrading. Because I have a Time Machine backup from Mojave, can I just boot into recovery and restore from the Mojave backup and be rolled back, or do I have to create a bootable Mojave installer thumb drive, erase my computer's hard drive, install Mojave from the thumb drive and then restore my files via my Mojave Time Machine backup?
Has anyone downgraded? How was your experience?
Thanks for the help.
