Downgrading question?

I want to downgrade my 3gen 8gb iPod touch (which is the same as the 2gen) but it came with 3.1 OTB. Ok, i heard you cant downgrade because it doesn't have the 3.0 drivers, But i also have an older 2gen 8Gb touch too, is there any way to use those drivers to downgrade or is there more to downgrading?

I would think this might work, since it works on a 3G (I've done it and it works fine). All you need is the .ipsw for the Touch. He doesn't mention using it for the Touch, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I don't see why not. I thought only the iPhone 3GS had the encryption chip where you needed to have your ECID on file to downgrade.
