Hey,

im currently in the process of migrating everything off my iCloud account so I can downgrade the monthly subscription back to “Free”, I’ve been an iCloud user since the early 2000’s so have accumulated a lot of emails, is there a way I can download all of these from iCloud to my Windows machine to help free up the required space to downgrade?

TIA

I tried to do this and exported them in the Mbox format which worked but when I imported it back to my new Mac I was setting up it lost around 2000 mails and gave me an error message that it couldn't import some messages. I've since just kept things on iCloud but would love to figure out a way to safely move them off the cloud and into a format that has longevity like pdf or word maybe?

You could archive old mail into a separate searchable browsable local database with apps like Mail Backup X or Mail Archiver or MailSteward. DEVONthink will do it too but probably not worth getting DEVONthink just for this, as it does so much more.

EDIT just realised you want to put it on Wndows so ignore above, but the above would enable you to unload your iCloud Plan.

I schedule Horcrux to periodically archive/backup my iCloud mail, it's also useful for migration?

Edit: Oops I saw you want to download to your 'Windows' machine, Horcrux appears Mac only.

What do you use as an email client in Win?

Most should be able to connect to your iCloud account, and thus get a complete download of the complete imap structure/content.

You could always D/L Thunderbird for free to accomplish the same.
