Howdy all! I can answer lots of questions about the iPhone, but I can't answer this one.

My father wants an iPhone, but it is missing one capability. He needs the ability to surf the internet and download files to his computer. One way to do this would be to download the file to the iPhone (somehow) and sync it up with the computer. The other way would be to get internet service on his computer via the iPhone.

Is there a way he would be able to do this via the iPhone? He said that he was at the AT&T store, with all of the papers signed and he was ready to walk out, and he said "Now this will allow me to download files to my computer, right?" They said no, and he had to walk out without one.

Anywho, thanks for the help!

there is a app called air share it cost 6.99 but was free until a couple of days ago. It allows you to move files between your computer and your iphone

Safari on the iPhone will download JPG and PDF's etc that are stored in the cache of the browser, but there is no way to get these off the phone without hacking it.

There are a number of file transfer programs that transfer files to and from the phone from withn their own directory.

I'm sure the physical capacity is there to do what you want, but you'.ll have to wait for a future upgrade of the firmeware (if it evere comes).
