Has anyone enabled this option on iOS 15? Im trying to figure out why it would be useful. If I airplay a song from my iPhone to my HomePods (which are on HomePod OS 15), does the song have to be downloaded to the iPhone in Dolby Atmost to play it in that quality on the HomePod or will the HomePod automatically play it in DA if the song is available in the quality on Apple Music? Otherwise, I have AirPods Pro, but I understand they don't support DA. Any thoughts? Am I missing something?

AirPods Pro does support Dolby Atmos.

Actually ALL headphones will support Atmos (as long as they’re stereo). You could listen to Atmos music on the earbuds that came with the orignal iPod if you really wanted to (though it probably wouldn’t have a very good spatial effect).

You do need AirPods Pro (or Max) for spatial headtracking with Atmos music, however.

Dude the OP thought the AirPods Pro didn’t support Atmos and I cleared that up. I didn’t need any correction or education in that regard. Thanks for trying though.

And I cleared it up further for anyone else reading so they knew it's also all headphones, not just AirPods Pro (or another headset that would have to be Atmos-compatible).

I wasn't trying to correct or educate you any way. No need to get offended and passive-aggressive.
