Download IOS 9 from iTunes or directly from wifi to device?

I have always updated through iTunes in the passed but with IOS 8 something went wrong and I spent hours on the phone with apple trying to fix the problem.

Which way did you download?

Ive always used iTunes to update my iPhone's and iPad Air.

Just a preference thing.

If you want to use your computer with your iPhone on iOS 9, you have to upgrade your iTunes to 12.3. Unfortunately, my iTunes software update would fail every time. I had to completely uninstall iTunes 12.2 (as well as 4 or 5 other Apple programs) before I was able to reinstall the latest version. I spent over 4 hours updating 2 phones last night. The good old days of everything just working out of the box are over.

OK, I made sure my iTunes were dated and everything went smoothly with my iPhone 6 and iPad air.
