I thought a collection of all necessary download links for jailbreak/unlock would be kind of helpful:
(I got the Rapidshare links from blog.iphone-dev.org, the uploader has enabled TrafficShare, so you don't have to wait before downloading, at the moment)

1.) Firmware 2.1.0
iPhone classic: http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...080909.gkbEj/iPhone1,1_2.1_5F136_Restore.ipsw
iPhone 3G: http://appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite...080909.K3294/iPhone1,2_2.1_5F136_Restore.ipsw

2.) PwnageTool 2.1 or QuickPwn 1.1
PwnageTool 2.1: http://rapidshare.com/files/144986142/PwnageTool_2.1.dmg
QuickPwn 1.1: http://rapidshare.com/files/144986146/QuickPwn_1.1.dmg

Good stuff, but will this Jailbreak and unlock my iPhone as well as activate?

I am doing it for a friend that wants to use it on T-mobile. I have it QuickPwned 2.0.2 and want to know if I can use this ipsw to have it do the same or will it just stayed unlocked, activate and/or jailbroken?

What are the bootload files?

And why are there two? Do I need both?

I bought a used 2G iPhone for use in Canada on Rogers PPD. I have jailbroken and unlocked it-the Rogers SIM works fine, but I do not think I used both bootloader files.

Do I need both? What are they and why would I need both?

Thanks in advance!

And of course the bootloader link will need to be removed, as it violates Apple's copyright. Everything else is totally fine.
