i recently installed windows 7 through bootcamp, and now when i am running osx many download sites seem to think i am running windows. sites such as firefox, apple, and google automatically choose windows/mac for you when downloading, rather than give you the option, and all of them automatically choose windows for me (for example, apple.com/safari, earth.google.com, etc.). i'm not sure if installing windows 7 caused this problem, but it seems to have started around the same time as the windows 7 installation. any advice? thanks.

Are you using Safari? If so, do you have the Develop menu in the menubar? If so, see if you have changed the browser identifier in there.

It isn't possible for your bootcamp partition to interfere with the OSX installation (other than start-up disk settings). Must be something else.

It still probably has something to do with your browser identifier.
I sometimes use it in Safari on sites that think they should only run on Windows to run them on my Mac.

No idea where it is in Firefox, but if you can find it, will probably fix your problem.
