Done a search but could not find a solution to this.
Is it possible to download a copy of the latest version of Big Sur so I can make a bootable usb drive for when I need to wipe my notebook.

If this is possible then can someone provide a link.

I am currently running 11.3 on my MacBook but do not want to rely on internet recovery.

Thank you.

Yes it on the App Store

Download to you Mac and then creative a bootable USB by doing the following.

1. Download macOS Big Sur if you haven’t done so already

2. Connect the USB thumb drive to the Mac, name the drive something obvious like “BigSurUSB”

3. Open “Terminal” by hitting Command + Spacebar and typing ‘Terminal’ and hitting the return key, or open Terminal through the Utilities older

4. Enter the exact command at the Terminal, replacing “BigSurUSB” with the name of your USB thumb drive if you changed it:
sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Big\ Sur.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/BigSurUSB --nointeraction

5. Confirm the syntax is correct, then hit return and authenticate with an admin password to begin the process of making the USB boot drive
