Have a Mp 3,1 here.

I tried downloading a copy of El cap and it took hours to download only to turn out its not the installer. Apple now wants me to connect to the computer to the internet to continue the install. Is there any sources out there to download a DMG that does not need the internet installer but to get a full install? My connectivity is not great and this is honestly a joke.

Thanks.

Sure…

Give me a few. I'm uploading the El Cap installer to Dropbox for you. I'll give you a link when it's done.

Note, it's 6.2GB.

EDIT: Here you are - https://www.dropbox.com/s/cc8igf0fd5sqb8b/El_CAP_InstallMacOSX.dmg?dl=0

EDIT2: Link removed, 05/13/2023. For anyone hunting this down, quote this post and I will put the installer DMG back up.

Well the installer worked. I dont think the problem is the installer. This is the same issue i had on the installer from my end. No idea how to proceed lol. Might try another usb stick.

You might try having dosdude's El Cap patcher build a USB stick for you. On systems that don't need to be patched a USB stick will just install normally.

Im going to try another form of media. (another USB Stick/HDD). As your image did not require the internet to install so thats already improvement. Again. thank you.

As for Dosdude. I didnt see a el cap patcher on there. Was there one i didnt see?

Have you tried changing the time/date in terminal from installer before installing? The certificates or something like that are out of date.

  1. go to utilities -terminal- type this and only this, date 0115124517

This is exactly what I thought - try that.

Also there is a way to show install logs by CMD + L if I recall correctly? The installer always had some trouble installing certain fonts.

Also I think you can just download the El Capitan installer from the Apple website and make an installer stick - there is no need to connect to the internet while installation.
