Downloading on my Macbook

any time i downlad something over 100MB from the internet on my Macbook , the downloading file stops half way through, but the download speed is still fluctuating, while the file itself doesn't get larger. i have tried it on multiple browsers and also on the windows partition and the same thing happens. i took about 5 tries to have a download that completed.


also, when ichat is open, i notice my internet connection randomly fluctuate, because ichat disconnects and then reconnects me but all in a few seconds

That's strange. Are you using the Ethernet or a wireless network. Update the modem's and the router's firmware and try. If its wireless its dropping the connection so a firmware update should solve things.

ive tried both, but i will reset my modem

Click on the apple up in the menu bar>software update.

It'll check the apple update site for available updates, and tell you if there are any.
